Intercultural Research
Gillespie Global Group intercultural research begins with its clients’ stated objectives: our goal is helping clients meet those objectives. To that end, our extensive trans-Pacific experience has prepared us to assess client organizations’ intercultural effectiveness in two key areas: how culture impacts work processes and how one culture perceives another in the workplace.
The Research Process
-
Individuals
One-on-one interviews with key executives and other employees.
-
Observation
Hands-on observations of intercultural interactions in meetings and video conferences.
-
Groups
Comprehensive and confidential focus-group interviews.
-
Reviews
A review of company documents (such as in-house newsletters, organization charts and trans-Pacific e-mail exchanges).
The information gathered can then be organized into a confidential report for the client and ultimately used to design a culturally aware strategy for developing and/or improving both employee work processes and mutual perceptions across cultures and, therefore, overall company productivity and competitiveness. This generally includes highly customized executive coaching and employee training programs, targeted to overcome specific challenges and other issues outlined in the report.
